In today’s lecture, we learnt the rules and tips for using typography in an appropriate way for screens, iPhones, iPads, etc.
During the lecture, we were tasked to use bits of Frankenstein and War of the Worlds to practice using appropriate fonts and pairing them in an aesthetically pleasing way.
I found this quite challenging, mainly the War of the Worlds one, as I wasn’t quite sure what fonts would stay legible while remaining in theme with the book.
However, I really liked being able to get some hands-on practice with typography and fonts available to me.

We then explored further and incorporated images and colour into the Frankenstein chapter.
I struggled a bit with this, choosing the right image, and using Figma tools I had no practice with.
However, after exploring relevant Figma tools and looking a bit further on Pinterest, I decided on a green-hued colour palette and edited the photo in Figma to a greener hue.
I then tried a couple of different fonts, attempting to stay true to the gothic theme but remain clear and readable. This was hard, but I think I eventually achieved it.
The second prototype was made after the in-lecture explanation of how to achieve a gradient effect, which I couldn’t grasp during, but I wanted to enhance my prototype with after.
